Biography

Luke Eginton is Chief Specialist Japan for Orsted, Headquartered in Denmark, Ørsted is the world’s largest builder and operator of offshore wind farms. The company also develops, constructs and operates onshore wind farms, bioenergy plants and innovative waste-to-energy solutions and provides smart energy products to its customers.
Luke has worked in the renewable energy industry across Asia for some 20 years. Before joining Orsted, Luke worked for Equis Energy and was charged with developing the firm’s Japan wind investment platform. Prior to joining Equis, Luke worked for Vestas, the world’s leading wind turbine supplier, as Managing Director for Japan and responsible for sales in Japan, Korea and Taiwan.
An Australian citizen, the majority of Luke’s working life has been spent in Asia with stints at market leaders such as the Boston Consulting Group and Tetra Pak before joining the renewable energy industry. Luke is a passionate believer in the need to tackle climate change through a paradigm shift in the way the world produces, manages and consumes its resources.
