Dr. Nancy Snow

Biography

Dr. Nancy Snow is a specialist in public diplomacy, nation branding, media relations and propaganda studies and has served as BBC analyst in peace and security issues. A two-time Fulbright Scholar and Social Science Research Council Abe Fellow, she has taught at two of the world’s leading public diplomacy masters programs, Syracuse University and the University of Southern California, and as visiting professor at IDC-Herzliya in Israel and UiTM in Malaysia. She is Professor Emeritus of Communications at California State University, Fullerton and Pax Mundi (Distinguished) Professor of Public Diplomacy at Kyoto University of Foreign Studies, the first public diplomacy professor in Japan.
Snow earned a Ph.D. from the School of International Service, American University, Washington, D.C., which followed with a Presidential Management Fellowship at the Department of State and U.S. Information Agency. She graduated summa cum laude in Political Science from Clemson University. She was a Fulbright scholar to Germany and German Academic Exchange Service Fellow at the University of California, Berkeley.
Snow has been interviewed over 500 times in the press and given over 200 invited lectures around the world. Dr. Snow has published in hundreds of books, journals, and newspapers, including the Journal of Communication, The ANNALS of the American Academy of Political and Social Science, Los Angeles Times, Japan Times, New York Times, The Diplomat, and The Guardian. She is author, editor, or co-editor of 12 books.
